Robert Bowling has all but revealed why he left Call of Duty, Infinity Ward and Activision following his sudden departure.
Speaking via multiple tweets, the former Modern Warfare creative strategist said he wanted to create something new, with a vision he believes can be implemented during the prime time of game development:
Quote
"Back to back pitch meetings for the last 9 hours. Thanks to everyone who met up today, you've made me fall back in love with game design.
I'm in no rush. It's about taking your time, finding something you're passionate about. I want to fall in love with it again.
There's far too many amazing things happening in our industry right now to be content spending life on just 1.
It's the year of change Dean. Big budgets are no longer necessary for amazing gameplay experiences. Time to reconnect to our roots."

He also responded to a user who asked if his aggressive tweets led to his resignation (such as: "Do not accept game invites or join Private Matches from any player you don't know & trust in #MW3. There are dirtbags up to dirtbag things."):
Quote
"False. Why would I resign over that?"
He even responded to a user's request of playing Call of Duty 4 with Respawn Entertainment co-founder and former Infinity Ward boss Vince Zampella:
Quote
"Drop me a message if you jump on, lets get some private matches going."
In responding to a user if he's going to start relaxing now:
Quote
"Hopefully not, I'm anxious to start creating stuff. This is a prime time in our industry, its truly the year of the developer."
To whatever Robert Bowling will do in the future, we wish him all the best.
